March 14th, 2010  |  Published in Car Accidents, Personal Injury, Truck Accidents

At one time, when one purchased a vehicle, you trusted that you were receiving quality. With all the latest vehicle recalls, it makes you wonder if you’re truly driving around in a safe vehicle.
There is nothing more frightening than driving on the highway at 65 miles per hour and unable to slow down your vehicle or brake. Once your brake system gives out or even a portion of your brake system fails, you have no other choice than to figure out how to survive not having a collision.
How to prevent Brake Failure?
Make sure you check your vehicle. Remember, you’re responsible for maintaining and servicing your car on a regular basis. Make sure you keep tract of signs of possible brake failure. For example, if the brake light suddenly comes on, if you begin to hear noises as you apply the brakes when stopping or if you begin to have trouble braking. If you notice any signs of brake problems, make sure you get it immediately checked out by a qualified auto mechanic.
If you’re on the highway and you have a brake emergency, make sure you safely pull into the right lane and turn on your hazard lights. Then slow your car down to a stop. If the car is not stopping, quickly remove the keys from the ignition. Once the car has stopped, then call to get your car towed off the road.  If there are any injuries or damages, make sure you report them to the local authorities.
If you’ve been in accident caused by brake failure, you may be entitled to receive compensation for damages caused by your car accident.
