Regardless of what state you’re traveling in, you will more than likely encounter an aggressive driver. Aggressive drivers are constantly in a hurry and could care less about their safety and the safety of other drivers. Their ultimate goal is to get to their destination as quickly as possible. When it comes to unsafe lane changes, aggressive drivers can be described as experts.
Unsafe lane changes are often accompanied with speeding, failing to obey traffic lights, tailgating and failing to properly signal when changing lanes.
Unfortunately, most accidents caused by unsafe lane changes can’t always be avoided. However, there are a few defensive driving techniques you can use to help prevent getting yourself into a serious accident.
If you come in contact with an aggressive driver while on the road, don’t take them on, get out of their way quickly and safely as possible. Never try to confront them by speeding up and don’t try to stay in a lane to just to prove that you can’t be pushed around.
Don’t give aggressive drivers the satisfaction by looking over at them, keep your eyes glued to the road. The best thing that you can do to avoid accident injuries is to make sure you always pay close attention to what’s going on around you while driving in close proximity of an aggressive driver. Most of all, make sure you always wear your seatbelt.
